Job 1114 - Accounting Manager

Lehigh Valley based manufacturer seeks an Accounting Manager to oversee financial reporting. This role will also develop and maintain accounting principles, practices, and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements. Supervise the accounting staff of five and is responsible for managing the team ensuring that work is properly allocated and completed in a timely and accurate manner.

This position addresses tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities including general ledger preparation, financial reporting, yearend audit preparation and the support of budget and forecast activities. Strong interpersonal communication skills both written and verbal.

In this role, you will:

Manage all aspects of accounting function; billing, financial statements, general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, budgeting, tax compliance, inventory accounting, cost accounting, revenue recognition, and various special analyses.
Prepare periodic financial reporting (monthly/quarterly/annual).
Have treasury responsibilities including monitoring cash funding and managing bank compliance activity.
Respond to request for special reporting.
Act as a business partner providing insight on other matters pertaining to the business.
Advise senior management on financial analysis and decision-making regarding pricing, investments, contract negotiations, significant costs, benchmarks, and other matters
Prepare and organize information for external auditors and other third parties.
Coming up with innovations to reduce cost.

You might thrive in this role if you have:

BA/BS In Accounting, Finance, or related degree, CPA preferred but not required
PC proficient with experience in Deacom or another ERP a plus
Strong knowledge of GAAP
At least five years in a finance or accounting role
A strong ability to collaborate and communicate with individuals on all levels of the company structure
